Week #3

This week was full of progress. Guess what guys? I finished German 1. NO MORE LANGUAGE FOR ANOTHER FOUR AND A HALF MONTHS. Well, in school anyway. I'll be using my German skillz in Europe pretty soon here. Just two more weeks until Germany! This week (or... last week, considering that it's Monday - even though yesterday would also be considered part of this week) was full of sunshine and happiness, with a few snowy days mixed in.
April 23: Stop the Silence Day - being a Whovian, I  joined the cause.
There's nothing very significant about this picture. I saw it on G+

This was an encouragement to me this week, so I saved it onto my Photo Stream.
As you already know, I finished GERMAN  :D  This is one of the  hundreds of pages of notes that I wrote all year.

I came upstairs to find this beautiful sun shining through my window. It's blinding me at the moment, so I had to take a picture of course.

And so we come to the final picture. At church yesterday, Todd (one of our many speakers) brought this verse up in his sermon. This verse puzzles me to the very end, as I cannot grasp my head around the entirety of its meaning. Did God predestine us to disobey him? Or, when we did disobey God, did he bind us to disobedience forever so that he could show us his love and mercy? I have no idea. I'd love some other perspectives on this.
Anywho, this week's post is pretty boring. I didn't have a lot of time to take any cool pictures about what I did, which included getting wet, spotting three beavers, watching my cousin run in a track meet, and DIYing my Sunday outfit! Next week will be better, I promise.
15 DAYS AND COUNTING!

A Poem

Here, wonderful people, is a horrific, suspenseful, poem intended to make you shake. in. your. underwear. e.e
Haha! Just kidding. I mean, it -is- a horrific and suspenseful poem that I wrote for my English class. And it's about a girl who is running from a bunch of creepers and ends up dying. But, whatevs. ^_^

-I Flee-
Hands raking, raking, raking,
Body shaking, shaking, shaking
The eyes they search
Seeking to see me
Click
The bright lights awake
Steamy, streaky fog
I hear the stealthy steps
Run, run, run
Branches breaking, energy waning
The lights forever following
My heart pumps, my feet jump
Crunch, crunch, crunch
The searching, seeing eyes
The blinding, bright light
They are coming, the fast feet approach
The trees grab, the branches snag
Trapping my feet, slowing my fleet
I can’t go on, I can’t, I can’t, I can’t
My brain is screaming, soul is screeching
Woosh
Nothing underneath, above, beside
A moment, a breath, a blink
The air surrounds me
The comforting silence sings
Then, the darkness closes in
The grabbing ground gaping
Crash
Hands still, still, still
Body silent, silent, silent

Don't have nightmares y'all :D

Week #2

This week, being nothing more than normal, has been.. well.. Normal. I did my school like a good student, stressed like an average teenager, crammed in extra reading like any bookworm, and talked to my friends throughout the week. I have once again realized that the ratio of schoolwork that I have left and time until Germany is increasingly worrying me. Less than a month. How am I gonna finish in time? AAH!!! I mean, I'm 84% complete with all my studies for this year, with only Geometry, German, Honors English, and Honors World History left - all if which I am at least 60% done with. But the looming papers have started to look like Gandolf when he gets angry. I'm scared. o.o
Anywho, these pictures are what I did this week:

Found out on Instagram that I'm someone's reason to smile :'D
Let my sister use my iPod... And noticed her taking pictures of me...

Made M&M pictures at Youth Group with all muh buddies :D
Description: A bloody man standing on the back of an arrow lizard
who just happens to be licking the eyebrow of a very smiley man.
Drew a meaningful picture
Had a picture taken of me. I look old... O.o
Made baklava with my mom :) But... I couldn't eat it. :(
Apart from the pictures, I also had a book discussion with a good friend and played at a piano recital on Friday. Now that you have a random, short summary of my week. GO MIND YOUR OWN BEEZWAX! Bye ^_^
Wow. I had to re-edit this post four times before I found all of my mistakes. *facepalm*

My Busy Week

It's funny how a whole week can turn completely upside down when you go to bed after 11 every night and wake up at 5 each morning. Six hours of sleep is not nearly enough to keep my brain happy. That is fo' sho'. Anywho- these pictures are a brief summary of what I did this week.
1. I had a yearly check-up on Thursday. It was no more than usual, except that I had my blood tested. It's all good. I'm not dying'.
2. Woke up on Friday to -snow-. In the middle of APRIL. SNOW.
3. Later that day I decided to color while waiting for my Perkin's lunch.
4. Decided that it was a crime that my sister had such long, thick hair and let it hang loose, or sit in a braid all day. She liked the improvement.
5. Looked at cool quotes and picked this as my favorite.

I also sat and thought deep things pertaining to a book discussion I'm having with a good friend of mine about 'Problem of Pain' by C. S. Lewis.
Today, I am helping my mom make Thai, Italian, and Chinese dishes for a potluck on Sunday.
All in all, it's been a good week. A good -upside down- week. I hope yours was equally hectic- nah. I hope yours was everything you hoped it to be.
Tshau!

My Portfolio

Hi,
I'm Maddy. This is a portfolio of all the pictures in which I am most proud of that I think depict a little bit of who I am. As you can see, I'm a nature girl... With a little bit of 'other' mixed in there. I love to catch moments of time and memory. Since this is my first post I couldn't figure out how to situate the photo's the way I wanted to, so the timeline is a bit messed up. Enjoy!
